Last Sunday my hubby and I got baptized! We had been talking about it for a bit and sort of put it on the back burner. Then we had gone to church a few weeks ago and were inspired to be baptized. One of our church members Tom was talking about a fellow co worker that had passed away unexpectedly. He said that one of his worries was that he did not know if his friend had been saved. He felt very guilty and said he would make sure that no one slipped through the cracks again and that he would make sure he knew more about his friends and their lives with God. Brandon and I were both very touched by his story and decided it was time. I was thinking about waiting until we had been in church for a year or so, but it all hit me there was no reason to wait. My niece was in charge of taking photos so unfortunately I didn't get any on my camera. We both were baptized on October 10, 2010. The water was so icy that I could not breathe. I am so happy we made that decision for us. Sometimes I am shy to talk about it because I can't stand the fact that there are so many people out there making judgements on every one. I need to have a good relationship with God and feel I am moving in the right direction. Church has been great and some how I feel stronger. Things just seem to be flowing in a good direction. Its really nice. On Friday our friend Dave was also baptized. He is in his 50's and had never been baptized. It was nice to get it done. We were ready for that step and so happy we all made the commitment. Its hard to make such a big commitment, but it will be so much better for us in the long run.

Isn't it funny...
Isn't it funny that no matter how many wrongs or injustices that another person may cause us that we feel compassion towards them? I guess this is all about forgiveness and moving on. Years ago Brandon had an ex girl friend, yada, yada, yada..Fast forward 13 years later and her sister has breast cancer. Tested in February and the Dr said she didn't have cancer. Now jump forward to September and she was misdiagnosed. She now has a aggressive cancer that they are dealing with. My husbands first reaction was to pray for her. My reaction was to cry for her. She is someone's daughter, girlfriend, mother, sister and MOTHER..Yes I know I repeated that one, but it hit me hard. She has kids, she is only 34 or 35 and she is really sick. Now she never cared for me because I was the new girlfriend of her sister's ex boyfriend. I get it . Family loyalty..I would do the same thing. Later, I became his wife and time has moved on with all of us..There aren't hard feelings anymore. At least for me. My heart aches for her and I can't seem to get it out of my mind. Hoping that she is going to be ok and that she is going to beat this. I'm praying for her full recovery..Thinking at one time that I didn't like her because she treated me wrongfully. But none of that matters right now. I guess in life when we think we have it bad there is alway someone out there who has it worse. I'm praying for you girl, even if you don't know it or care. I am and I hope you get a 100% recovery..
*funny what happens when you become a grown up, you change*

Bruce Almighty
Do you remember the movie Bruce Almighty? If you haven't seen it, its great! Has Jim Carrey, who I feel is one of the funniest actors of all time. When Bruce is given God's job he decides to answer YES to all of the prayers he receives that way it will make his job easier. Not only does it confuse things, but people are praying for ridiculous things like losing weight eating only krispy cremes or to win the lottery. There are riots and all sorts of problems. So I guess it makes me think back to the mom who taught her kids to pray and you will get what ever you want. God does answer our prayers, just not always how we want. I can not tell you how many times I've prayed for something that I "wanted." To come back later and Thank my lucky stars that God didn't grant me that prayer. Sometimes what we want at the time of prayer seems great and God knows what will happen or how things will turn out. So he saves us from the eventual disappointment!
Thank Goodness!!!!!

First time in 10 years
This last Sunday was the first time in 10 years that Brandon and I went to Church! We have been talking about going to church together for years. But never quite made it for one reason or another. Or shall I say excuse...When Mark was really little we wanted to go but felt that he was to small. Then we had Alec and he was to small. Basically we never made the time to go even though we wanted to. This I know is a heated debate as there are believers and not believers out there. I have always believed and feel that God touches my life every day. But I haven't taken the time for him. The time one hour every Sunday to go and enjoy and learn new things about him. So we waited a few months after Blake was bigger and not so suseptible to everything around him and bit the bullet yesterday. It was such a good feeling and I'm so glad that we went. The boys enjoyed it and they got to go to Sunday school. We all enjoyed it and I can see it becoming a very good routine for us to get into. The baby napped, fussed a little bit and of course let out a cry like I was killing him during the sermon. But I felt at peace being there and I'm so excited to go next Sunday!!!

Its amazing to me.....
How a woman's body can completely manufacture a whole living and breathing human. I keep looking at this little guy wondering how it is we do it. I'm in complete awww everytime I look at him. Completely in love and so happy and feeling very accomplished. I could honestly say I could keep having babies..They are so cute and helpless and do so many funny and adorable things. I miss being pregnant already. If I had known when he was coming I would have taken some time to really enjoy my last moments being pregnant. I was thinking I'd have to be induced.
I prayed and prayed for things to go smooth and for us. I asked for an easy delivery and a healthy baby. I put it in his hands as far as the sex of the baby. I knew he'd send us what would work best for our family. I had been sort of detached from God. Once I started praying again and communicating with God things started to change very rapidly. Its so cliche and people can believe what they want but my life started to get better. The stress of every day living started to fade away. I felt that comfort that had been absent for awhile. Now I didn't lose faith at all. I just got overly busy and put God on the back burner..Not even saying my prayers every night because I was falling asleep to quick. He welcomed me back with open arms and started reminding me of who I am and what I stand for. Not to be judgmental and to pray for those who are giving me grief. I can not imagine a life with out God in it..He had brought me all of my greatest blessings and I am forever grateful!!
