Where have I been?

I've had a busy couple of weeks! I threw one of my girlfriends a surprise 30th  birthday party.  It was a lot of fun, but oh so much work.

I had been planning this for awhile.  I'd say since back in December.  I wanted to blog about it so bad but didn't want to ruin the surprise for her just in case she reads..Don't think she does, but you never know:)
I had to talk to her husband and the only way I could do that was to stop by his football practice and get his ok.  He was excited as he wanted to do something special for her.  I talked with her mother in law and a few friends here and there.
So I started out asking her hubby who she was the closest with.  His answer..well you mainly..Great!! So I started to plow through all her friends on facebook.  Got a lot of addresses and made a cute invite.  Got the invites out and the rest was pretty easy.
Cleaning the house was a challenge.  Always is with 3 boys.  I think I have realized that I will never be Martha Stewart.  I'm to unorganized for that.  Hopefully things will get better as I am still working on it. I used to be more organized but having kids really took that away.
So Friday we went out to dinner.  We were going to go to Chilis..but they were PACKED.  So we ended up at IHOP.  Word of advice..don't ever get the milkshake there..3.99 for a regular drink sized chocolate syrup and icecream shake.  To top it off the waitress acted offended when we mentioned that was a lot for such a small shake.

So we enjoyed our small shake and ended up coming to my house.  I told her I painted my kitchen and wanted her opinion.  As soon as we walked in got this loud Surprise!! For her..she was so shocked and didn't know what to say.  I had made Chili and we had appetizers and it was really great:)

Of no importance

This is a silly post and really has no relevance what so ever..Just a funny post.

It annoys the heck out of me how Women throw themselves at celebrities.  I know it doesn't affect my life what so ever.  But it really urks me, because if I wasn't happily married and met a nice celebrity..(HA HA, I can't even type that with out Chuckling) These women would have ruined it for me and all of us.  Why oh why would you degrade yourself so you could just be a random hook up for them.  Make them respect women more.
I don't know if they are so desperate to be popular themselves or huge gold diggers.  I just don't get it. I don't know it just makes us all look so desperate and makes them think they can do what they want and cheat on their significant others if they have one.  Oh well..Its funny to think about and really doesn't matter.  Just an annoyance:)

Camera bandit still at large..

Apparently the camera bandit likes to snap photos of his most prized possesions.  Any guesses as to what this is??? To be continued....I will give you a few days to ponder on this one..

Sugar and spice

Alec decided that he wanted cinnamon toast.  He was looking for the sugar and decided that he didn't need any..that cinnamon would be sufficient.  I hope you can see the pure layer of cinnamon on this toast.

He did eat some of it too..Call him cinnamon from now on. He He!  I asked him later how his toast was and he said it was very sweet. I said you mean very nasty and he said Very nasty..ha ha! I love these little boys so much my heart aches.

wowza!

I thought this picture was pretty great..Great for those of us who love Twilight...Yes, I am a little crazy, but can't help it. I'm a huge fan! I saw the third movie 3 times in the theater:)

On another note I heard a fabulous song the other night when I was watching Jimmy Fallon. The group is called The Black Keys and the song is Tighten up. There are several videos on you tube and I'm sure you could find it on Jimmy fallon's website. They are pretty good. I love the oldie feeling that it has...of course the lyrics are great too:)

chasing a little piggy

SO I was on my way home from the store last night and I had a feeling I needed to slow down. A feeling that if I didn't I would hit something. Low and behold I had to swerve the car to keep from hitting an animal. Not just any animal..A pot belly pig. I turned around and drove by a few times to try and find the poor fellow. I didn't see him anywhere. So I was hoping he had ran into a near by field. On my way back that way I didn't see him either. I turned into Walleck Ranch and there he was resting on the rocks of someones front yard. I went up to him thinking maybe he was friendly and that I could catch him. He oinked at me a few times and went closer into a tree where I could not reach him. I rang the door bell of the people to let them know they had a little pig in their front yard and so I would not get shot running around like an idiot in their front yard. They wished me luck..
He crossed Gordon and I clapped my hands at him. He ran fast oinking at me the whole time. Had I caught him I don't know what I would have done, but lets just say I'd have a pig in my back yard. I didn't want him to get ran over he was too cute. The story had some hilarity to it so I thought I'd share. Man I wish I'd had my camera! Most people can say I almost hit a dog or cat..but I can say I almost hit a pig. I'm so glad I didn't. If you don't know this about me I am a HUGE animal lover!! It would have broken my heart.

Rebel of all sorts

So I did forget to mention that after the big stress of my MRI..I went to go get my earring put back in that goes on the little flap out side of my ear canal..the little ball is almost impossible to get back in..While at Mink ink, I was inquring about nose piercing..How bad it hurt and what to expect. My friend earlier had gotten hers done and while I had always thought it would be fun I had never done it. So I bit the bullet and now I have a small little diamond stud in my nose. Of course it feels weird, but it is exciting. I told Rob, the man who did it that I felt weird having it done. I mean I am a mom of 3 and I drive a mini van..ha ha..He says I'm 42 years old and you are who you are. Which was very well said. Would I ever pierce a nipple..No..Hell no..ha ha..But Its fun and after the stress of the MRI I deserved it:)
To boot it didn't even hurt..I've had zits on my nose hurt worse than this did. It made me feel alive and helps me to feel not so consumed by being a mom..I am still me and I still have all sorts of life in me!

Hoarding

As I was cleaning up the kitchen a little bit (Don't know what came over me) I started thinking about people who hoard things. I wonder if they hoard because they are bored?? I know that when I am bored I go shopping and buy things I really don't need. Usually just to waste time. I know I could be cleaning or doing the several things around here that need to be done, but none of it is as fun. I get on the computer and surf or farm until I am bored. Then I get out of the house and shop because I'm bored. Not only do I spend extra money I don't need to spend I almost always come home with stuff I didn't need. I do have to say for the most part I buy for the boys, clothes or something cute. There are a few splurges here and then and sometimes I say heck with it and get something for me. Like a new coffee maker. I had an old cheap one that would spill coffee all over the counter or floor when you tried to pour from the carafe. I would go to the sink and pour. I would also wait 30 minutes on my coffee..Thus going to Starbucks became much easier. :) So yesterday I though heck with it..I got myself a 24.88 Mr. Coffee with a programable timer. A few days earlier I had one in the cart and talked myself out of it. But I just decided heck with it yesterday and today My coffee was ready when I got up.
But I seriously think boredom and hoarding are one in the same. Guess I better get that under control:)
